About Jones
Hi, I’m Jones!
I help people with marginalized identities and complex trauma histories go from disconnected, fearful, and unsure of themselves to more connected, grounded, and accepting of themselves.
I do my best work with people with dissociative responses resulting from painful experiences in the past. Often my clients have experienced childhood abuse and/or neglect, including spiritual and religious trauma. My work has included extensive experience working with dissociative disorders.
I have my Master’s in Human Development Counseling with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have a temporary license as a Licensed Professional Counselor and am working towards full licensure under the supervision of Kim Powell and Dr. Patti van Eys.
My background with pastoral care, chaplaincy, and LGBTQ advocacy has prepared me well to work with individuals experiencing challenging relationships with their spirituality or religious background. I provide a nonjudgmental space to explore spirituality or faith background as a source of comfort and connection, a source of hurt and trauma, or both.
I am passionate about working with individuals with complex trauma histories who struggle to connect with others or feel safe in relationships. I especially like working with people with marginalized identities who struggle to feel understood by society or the mental health community.
I hold a certificate in Somatic Embodiment. I have training in Ego State Therapy and Clinical Hypnosis and have completed training on the Foundations of the Internal Family Systems Model.
I have a special interest in finding effective ways to use hypnosis to calm the nervous system, resolve inner conflict, and shift trauma-related beliefs for lasting change. I am enrolled in the professional certificate program with ISSTD in order to learn more about all the manifestations of complex trauma and how to tailor therapy to meet each individual’s unique needs.
In my free time, I enjoy cycling, swimming, reading, knitting, and quality time with my partner and friends.
