I opened Safe Haven Trauma Services to provide a safe haven for those who were highly traumatized by the very people that were meant to love and protect them. Parents and other caregivers are the ones with the most power to cause significant harm. As I became a mama myself, I have become more and more passionate about supportive and preventative services through working with parents too. As a trauma therapist, I am intimately aware of the severe damage that can be done to children who then grow up to be very wounded adults.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor - Mental Health Services Provider in Tennessee and South Carolina For over a decade, I have specialized in helping high-functioning adults heal the effects of trauma, attachment wounds, and nervous system dysregulation. My clients are often the people others depend on - the achievers, caretakers, entrepreneurs, and musicians who learned early in life that success, productivity, and staying busy were safer than slowing down long enough to feel what was underneath.
Living and working in Nashville, I have had the privilege of supporting musicians, artists, and creative professionals navigating the unique pressures of life in Music City. I also have experience working with high-profile clients who require a discreet, grounded, and deeply attuned therapeutic space.
Behind the talent, ambition, and performance, many struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, relationship challenges, self-doubt, chronic shame and a persistent sense that no amount of achievement ever feels like enough.
My work focuses on the deeper roots of these patterns. I specialize in complex trauma, attachment wounds, dissociation, and the ways unresolved trauma can become embedded in both the mind and body. Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with individuals experiencing dissociative symptoms as well as functional neurological and medically unexplained conditions, including psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES), conversion disorder, chronic pain, and other nervous-system-based symptoms that often emerge when the body carries what words cannot express.
I believe symptoms tell stories. Rather than asking, “What’s wrong with you?” my approach asks, “What happened to you, and how did you learn to adapt to it?”

Therapy with me is not about fixing you. It is about helping you understand the protective adaptations that once helped you survive, while creating enough safety for new patterns to emerge. Together, we work toward greater emotional freedom, healthier relationships, increased creativity, and a life that feels less driven by survival and more guided by authenticity.
Whether you’re navigating the demands of a creative career, carrying the weight of childhood wounds, struggling with unexplained physical symptoms, or simply exhausted from holding it all together, therapy can become a space where you no longer have to perform, achieve, or prove your worth. Here you just show up as yourself - allowing layers of protection to fall away.
Approach
My approach is heavily influenced by the work of Kelly McDaniel, who writes on the topic of Mother Hunger®. Mother Hunger describes a deep attachment wound involving lack of nurturance, protection, or guidance from your mother. Healing from Mother Hunger and other forms of attachment hunger open us up for healthy bonding and attachment with our children.
I tend to combine my knowledge of attachment theory, neuroscience, and trauma in working with clients. My approach typically blends hypnosis or imagery, somatic therapies, and parts work.
I have seen individuals undergo incredible healing and transformation. I help clients to process their wounds from the past, have more authentic relationships, and live more fulfilling lives. I provide a relational approach for clients who feel anxious, overwhelmed, and driven by their past relational wounds. It is my belief that we need relational safety before delving into deep trauma and/or attachment wounding. I provide skill building to calm you in your most stressful moments. I teach you about the research on healthy attachment and bonding and help you to trust your own inner knowing.
I consider this work my passion and calling. In my free time you can find me soaking in all the snuggles with my two children and spending time as a family. I’m an avid reader and enjoy nerding out, reading all things on trauma, attachment, and parenting. Yes, I do this in my free time! I also enjoy traveling, hiking, and being outside.
*Natalie also does a limited amount of intensives with a specific focus. She is especially passionate about healing Mother Hunger and other forms of attachment wounding.
