Depression in Teens
Help your teen go from feeling alone and disconnected to living more connected, purposeful lives.
If your teen is isolating and not wanting to spend time with friends or family, they may be experiencing depression.
They may express feelings of hopelessness that sound like, “What’s the point anyways?” Or “It’s always going to be this way, nothing ever gets any better.”
They might be crying often, alone or in front of you. They may seem sad or even numb. Sometimes depression presents itself as feeling nothing.
Do you find yourself worried about your child’s future and their ability to cope?
Sometimes your teen may even exhibit angry outbursts or frustration over relatively small things.
Some of this can be normal angsty teen behavior, but when these issues are chronic and reoccurring, there may be reason for concern.
It’s possible your teen is feeling depressed and disconnected from others and the world.
If this is the case, we can help. We provide coping skills to manage overwhelming emotions, a safe relationship where teens can open up about root issues that may be driving depression, and help teens find passion and purpose to thrive in school, with friends, and with family.
We believe you are part of the answer and believe in incorporating parents into treatment when possible. We help parents develop new relational skills that help develop a stronger bond between you and your teen. We ask that parents be available to participate in a session at least once a month.
